A range of books specially designed for children with type 1 diabetes are now available to read online following the launch of a new website T1EverydayMagic.com
The books, which include Coco and Goofy’s Goofy Day and ESPN: Power Forward, cover real-life issues facing younger and older kids with type 1 diabetes and their families, such as sports activities, birthday parties and other social events.
Families can also get diet tips and diabetes-friendly recipes from the Dishing It Up Disney Style Cookbook, watch inspirational videos of real families telling their stories about living with type 1 diabetes, and learn more about other Lilly Diabetes’ programmes and initiatives for families and children with the autoimmune disease.
Previously only available through paediatric endocrinology offices, the books have been converted into digital format and can now be experienced on a desktop or tablet device via the new online resource.
The books and new website are part of a collaboration between Lilly Diabetes and Disney, aimed at educating and inspiring families affected by type 1 diabetes.
“We are pleased to bring these unique books to as many members of the diabetes community as possible, in a format that is user-friendly and free of charge,” Kevin Donahoe, Lilly Diabetes’ US brand director, said.
