September can be a busy month. Having returned from summer holidays, most people are back at work and/or getting used to the school routine again. As a result, health is sometimes left to take a back seat while other things are prioritised.
Today, we’re encouraging everyone to keep our minds on our health as work and school kick into gear.
There are lots of good ways to get your blood flowing which is good for the heart as well as all round health. Take advantage of spells of good weather to get some walking or another exercise in. It’s a good time to start a beneficial habit such as walking or cycling after work or on the way to or back from shops.
Another healthy habit is to keep up to date with your appointments and results. Are you up to date with all your health checks this year? If not, ensure you get booked in for any checks you have missed before the year is out.
Home foot checks are an important habit to keep up with. For those of us with diabetes, it can only take a small cut or graze to put our feet in danger, so it’s really important to carry out daily foot checks to prevent foot ulcers from developing and becoming a serious problem.
You have the power therefore to check your feet and prevent serious problems from happening.
